Div Com reviews traffic scenario
Emphasizes on incorporating modern methods for better traffic management
 
JAMMU, JULY 16: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today convened a meeting to review the traffic scenario in Jammu city besides discussing measures to further streamline the traffic movement.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, VC JDA, R K Shavan , SSP Traffic , Joginder Singh, RTO , Deep Raj besides other senior functionaries of concerned departments.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on various vital issues including factors affecting traffic volume in the city, removing encroachments by both shops keepers and rehris, unauthorized school buses and vans, need for dividers at various routes, road safety, removal of non-functional electricity and telephone poles and many alike.

The Div Com emphasized on incorporating modern gadgets and methods to ensure smooth flow of traffic and directed to put a comprehensive mechanism to check the menace of rash driving.

The Div Com asked the concerned authorities to take all requisite measures to ensure better traffic management and stressed on maintaining synergy between all concerned agencies to ensure smooth traffic movement. He further asked the concerned functionaries to identify more spaces around the city to develop parking areas.

Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting with senior functionaries of JMC, UEED and NBCC and stressed on keeping Tawi clean and directed to strictly check any sewage flow into water resources. He asked the concerned authorities to co-ordinate and include all the left-out areas of the city into existing sewage lines.
