PM inaugurates Manesar Palwal stretch of Western Peripheral expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Manesar Palwal stretch of the Western Peripheral expressway. He also inaugurated the 3.2-kilometre long Escorts Mujesar-Ballabhgarh metro corridor and laid the foundation stone for Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University in Palwal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterating the commitment of his government to ease of living and employment for all...Monday proved to be a special day for the people of Haryana and NCR.

In a major push to infrastructure development Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Manesar Palwal stretch of the Western Peripheral expressway. He also inaugurated the 3.2-kilometre long Escorts Mujesar-Ballabhgarh metro corridor and flagged off the first metro train on this route. This will help decongest Capital Delhi in a big way. Ballabhgarh is the fourth city in Haryana to get Metro connectivity after Gurugram, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh.

Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone of Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University in Palwal. This is a first of its kind institution in the country which will be completed by 2020.
The 135-km Western Peripheral Expressway connects four of the country's busiest National Highways — NH1 near Kundli, NH10 near Bahadurgarh, NH8 at Manesar, and NH2 near Palwal — and allows commuters to bypass traffic coming from the north of Delhi on NH1, going to the south of Delhi on NH2, and to the west along NH8.

It was concieved of in 2003 but saw several delays over the years. The estimated cost of the project when it began was Rs 1200 crores. But unecessary delays ended up wasting precious funds pushing up costs to nearly 3 times the initial estimate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government is committed to meeting the aspirations of New India. He said that increased connectivity creates employment opportunities.

Construction of Highways, metro, railways or waterways creates an ecosystem that benefits several sectors ranging from transport, construction to maufacturing and service sectors. Prime Minister said his government wants to empower the youth as well as businesses.

With these inaugurations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi added a fresh chapter to his script for New India...one that empowers the last man in the line....one that pays special attention to the youth of the country.
