Mumbai: 'Deep Submersible Rescue Vehicle' inducted into Navy | | | Mumbai 12 December(Agencies) Deep Submersible Rescue Vehicle inducted into Western Naval Command of Indian Navy; Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba says its a landmark event and congratulates all for the successful sea trials of DSRV; says this vehicle has the capability to rescue from 650 meters deep.
The Indian Navy today inducted the 'Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle' into service at the Western Naval Command in Mumbai.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba inducted the vehicle into the Navy.
The Navy successfully concluded maiden trials of the Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle on October 15.
The DSRV has the capability to rescue personnel from a distressed submarine up to a depth of 650 metre and it is the latest in terms of technology and capabilities.
The vehicle can rescue as many as 14 people in one dive. Speaking on the occasion, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba said its a landmark event and congratulates all for the successful sea trials of DSRV. | | | |
