PM Modi terms opposition alliance a failure; accuses Congress of trying to delay SC verdict in Ayodhya case

New Delhi Jan 12(Agencies)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the proposed grand alliance of opposition parties as a failed experiment.

Addressing the concluding session of the BJP National convention at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi today, Mr Modi alleged that these parties are coming together as they want to form a helpless government to promote nepotism and corruption.

He said, BJP, on the other hand, wants a strong dispensation for all-round development of the country. Mr Modi said, the people should decide whether they want a strong government or a weak one formed by opposition alliance out of desperation.

He said, Congress-led opposition parties are forming alliances just to oust BJP out of power in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He expressed pride that for the first time in nation's history, a government has not had a single charge of corruption against it. He said the previous UPA government had pushed the nation into dark and India lost 10 important years in scams and corruption charges.

He accused Congress leadership of not having faith in law and institutions. Mr Modi alleged that Congress is trying to obstruct the Ayodhya case in Supreme Court by sending its lawyer.

The Prime Minister said ten-per cent reservation in education and government jobs for the youth from economically weaker sections will enhance the confidence of 'New India'.

He asserted that the new arrangement will not encroach upon existing quota for other sections of the society. He reiterated that NDA government is working day and night to double farmers' income by 2022.

Mr Modi said Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat are the mottos of his government. He added that Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot should be the mantra for victory.

He also listed government's welfare works done for different sections of society.
