Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas begins in Varanasi

Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas began at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh this morning. Addressing the NRIs, especially youth who have arrived from different parts of the globe, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj invited them for investment in the field of education. She said that nowadays India offers the limitless opportunity for those who want to work in India. She said our shared common identity is our strength. She said your forefathers came from this land. They went as traders, indentured labour, entrepreneur and young Indian professionals. She said the success of each one of you abroad brings laurels to India. Ms Swaraj said Indians are leading the world as lawmakers and heading big corporations. She said Pravasi Bhartiya Divas is not only about finding your roots but also about being a part of India's growth story. .

Welcoming the large gathering of Youth among the NRIs Minister of Information and broadcasting Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that government wants their support for making new India. He said that no matter how long NRIs have stayed outside India but the country lives in their hearts and they are the biggest ambassador of India.

He said that India is making its different identity which increased leaps and bounds in the last four and half years because people have voted for a strong government at the centre.He said, Indians can learn a lot from their NRI brethren about how they preserved their culture and language. The Minister said We want your support for making new India.

UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that after coming at the helm of affairs in the state he tried a lot to change in the investment scenario of Uttar Pradesh and invited all NRIs to invest in the land of their forefathers. Chief guests of the Youth PBD were Member of Parliament from New Zealand Kanwal Jeet Singh Bakshi and MP from Norway Himanshu Gulati. Minister of state for external affairs Retired General VK Singh also shared the dais.

The theme for PBD 2019 is "Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India". Several world leaders of Indian origin will share their insights into the role of Indian Diaspora for a New India during 3 days long event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate the event tomorrow, with Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth being the Chief Guest. The valedictory address and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards will be given by President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday.
