Prime Minister Narendra Modi accuses opposition of creating confusion on Citizenship Bill in North East; At a rally in Guwahati Prime Minister asserts, his government is committed to protecting rights of local people of Assam and North East over resources of the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Guwahati in Assam on Saturday where he laid the foundation stone of North East Gas Grid which will ensure uninterrupted availability of natural gas across the region and boost industrial growth in the region. The grid is part of Government's plan to provide cheap and quality gas to the entire North East Region. He also laid the foundation stone of City Gas Distribution Networks in Kamrup, Cacher, Hailakandi & Karimganj districts. City Gas Distribution ensures the supply of cleaner fuel (PNG) to households, industrial & commercial units.

Prime Minister also inaugurated Hollong Modular Gas Processing Plant in Tinsukia, Assam. This facility will deliver 15% of the total gas produced in Assam. PM also inaugurated LPG Capacity Augmentation of Mounted Storage Vessel in North Guwahati. The foundation stone of NRL Bio Refinery at Numaligarh and a 729 km gas pipeline from Barauni - Guwahati passing through Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim & Assam was also laid by Prime Minister on this occasion.

Addressing the function, Prime Minister slammed the alliance by opposition as 'Mahamilawat' dals, PM said that theses Dals are confusion over citizen bill. PM said that the BJP is the only party which stands for protecting the rights Assamese people.

Prime Minister also slammed opposition for not showing any interests in implementing the Assam Accord for more than 30 years.

Prime Minister said that govt is committed to stop infiltration from Bangladesh.

Prime Minister also said that corrupt people are now gone underground after govt launched drive against them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also dedicated to the nation the Garjee -- Belonia Railway Line through unveiling of plaque at Swami Vivekananda Stadium in Agartala. This line will boost Tripura as the gateway to South and Southeast Asia. PM also inaugurated New Complex of Tripura Institute of Technology at Narsingarh through unveiling of plaque.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala in Tripura. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur is widely regarded as the creator of modern Tripura. He is credited with planning of Agartala city. Unveiling of his statue is in line with the Union Government's policy of honouring the unsung heroes of India, who have contributed greatly to nation building.
