PM Modi launches various development projects In Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, today other countries of the world are also following Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign; Addresses "Swachh Shakti 2019" programme at Kurukshetra in Haryana; Inaugurates National Cancer Institute at Jhajjar; Also lays foundation stone of India's first Ayush University.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a boost to healthcare facilities in Haryana. He dedicated to the nation the National Cancer Institute at the AIIMS Jhajjar campus. This is a state of the art Tertiary Cancer care cum Research Institute. The 700 bed hospital has different facilities like surgical oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, anesthesia, palliative care and nuclear medicine. The NCI will be the nodal institution for all activities related to cancer in the country and will have linkages with regional cancer centers and other cancer institutes within the country. There will be a special focus on research too.

PM also inaugurated the first ESIC Medical College and Hospital in North India. Located in Faridabad, this 510 bedded Hospital has state of art facilities. It provides social security to people insured under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation and their dependents.

Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the National Institute of Ayurveda, Panchkula. The National Institue of Ayurveda is being set up at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple Complex in Panchkula. It will be a national level institute for Ayurveda treatment, education and research. Once completed, it will be highly beneficial for the residents of Haryana and other nearby states.

PM also laid the foundation stone for the Sri Krishna Ayush University in Kurukshetra. This University is the first, related to Indian system of medicine in Haryana as well as the first University of this kind in India.

The foundation stone of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay University of Health Sciences, Karnal was also laid by PM Modi.

The Foundation stone of 'Battles of Panipat Museum' was also laid by PM Modi. This museum will honour the heroes of the various battles of Panipat. It is in line with the Union Government's initiative to honour the unsung heroes of India, who have contributed greatly to nation building.

Prime Minister said that history of man cannot be written by those disconnected from their historic roots. He hit out at the Congress for promoting history that revolves around one family.

Prime Minister participated in Swachh Shakti-2019 in Kurukshetra. He visited the Swachh Sundar Shauchalay exhibition. On display were toilets that have been beautifully decorated. Many are called Izzat ghar as they save women and girls from the shame of open defecation. The exhibition showcase the achievements of Swachh Bharat and the recently conducted Swachh Sunder Shauchalay, (neat and clean toilet) - a unique and first of its kind in the world campaign. He described Kurukshetra as the cradle of civilisation that is today witnessing a battle against filth.

Prime Minister targetted the opposition for ignoring the plight of women who were forced to defecate in the open. He said that taunts from those who are born with golden spoons in their mouths don't deter him from standing up for the dignity of women.

Prime Minister also distributed the Swachh Shakti-2019 awards. Swachh Shakti campaign is an example of how at the grass root level, rural women champions are acting as a change agent to mobilize the community and lead from the front. Women taking initiatives for a Swachh Bharat are being honoured via these awards. Swachh Shakti-2019 is a national event where women Panches and Sarpanches from across the country gather. Nearly 15,000 women are participating in the event this year.

Prime Minister congratulated the award winners. He said that India's swachhta model is being used by many nations around the world.
