Ganderbal Woman Ends Her Life by Suicide, Jumps into Jhelum River in Srinagar
 
Srinagar , June 18: A 56- year-old woman jumped into river Jehlum near Cement bridge in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Sources told press that a elderly woman (56) (name withheld), wife of Ghulam Ahmad, a resident of Khulmulla Nagbal area of Ganderbal district jumped into river Jehlum around 7;00 am near cement bride at Noorbagh here.

He said that the body of the woman was fished out within two hours by sand extractors along with river police near the Shalteng area of the city.
A Police official told press that it was not immediately known as to what prompted the woman to take such an extreme step.

Meanwhile a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and police have launched further investigations in this regard.

It is pertinent to mention that a youth from Palapora Eidgah ended his life by jumping into the river Jehlum from the same bridge and the bridge is proving to be hot spot of suicides.
