Two unidentified militants killed in Bandipora encounter: Police
Say militant involved in killing of BJP leader, his father and brother killed in encounter
 
Srinagar, Sep 26 (Agencies): Two militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out in Watrina locality of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday morning, police said.

An official told press that a joint operation was launched in the area following the presence of militants.

He said that as the forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, hiding militants opened fire, triggering an encounter.

The official said that during the ensuing gunfight two unidentified militants have been killed, while search operation is going on.

Meanwhile, police on its official Twitter handle claimed that the militant involved in the killing of BJP leader Waseem Bari, his father and brother has been killed.

“#BandiporaEncounterUpdate: #Killer of BJP leader late Waseem Bari, his father and brother #killed in the #encounter. Further details shall follow,” the Police Tweeted.
