Allege admin of not honouring their protocols

jammu, Oct 09 (Agencies): Around 55 sarpanches and panches have tendered their resignations in two blocks of Ramban district over various issues on Saturday.

As per the resignation letters, the Sarpanchs and panchs held a convention on Friday where various development and other issues have been discussed.

Referring to the visit of central government ministers under the public outreach programme, they said the local administration is not honouring their protocols and only selected representatives were invited to have meetings with the visiting ministers to mislead the government.

The letters further read that no official from the revenue department id taking part in Gram Sabha programs, which they have raised time and again with the administration.

“The Panchayat system in Block Ramsoo is complete disturbed and distracted.

The administration is not paying any attention to our pleas and our protocol is being dishonoured.”

They alleged that they are being ignored and face unnecessary interference in developmental works while the promised participation of 30 government departments in Gram Sabhas has proved a “cruel joke”.

The letters read that over the selfishness of officials thur have unanimously decided to tender their resignations if their demands are not fulfilled.

A sarpanch Lamber Akeel Baigh, when contacted by KNS, told that they are resigning because the promises that were made to them have not been fulfilled.

“We have been told that you will have jurisdiction over 24 departments, but we have been educated only about block development and we have no knowledge about rest of the 23 departments,” he said.

He said that there are many projects inaugurated during Back to Village, but all the projects have been left midway. “We were not allowed to meet the Rural development department minister during his recent tour to our district.”

He said “we have to go back to our people, we have to explain them why no development has not taken place, keeping all this in mind we have decided to submit our resignation.”

Meanwhile, when contacted BDO Ramban he said that he has no information about the same.
