Death toll in Maharashtra's building collapse rises to 17; Rescue operation underway
 
Mumbai 28June:-
In Maharashtra, the death toll in the building collapse at Kurla’s Naik Nagar in Mumbai has risen to seventeen. The BMC said, the injured people are being treated at the Rajawadi and Sion Hospital. The four-story building collapsed last night. As many as 13 people have sustained injuries in the incident. According to the officials, the rescue operation is still underway.

Maharashtra Minister Subhash Desai said, an ex-gratia of five lakh rupees will be given to the family of the deceased and the injured will be given free treatment. The incident will be investigated and action will be taken against those responsible. He said, a meeting has been called to ensure that such an incident doesn't happen again.

President Ram Nath Kovind has expressed grief at the loss of lives in Kurla building collapse in Mumbai. In a tweet, Mr. Kovind gave his condolences to the bereaved families and said, his thoughts and prayers are with them in this hour of grief.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed pain at the building collapse in Mumbai. In a tweet, Mr. Modi said, his thoughts are with the bereaved families and prayers with the injured. He announced that an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund would be given to the next of kin of the deceased.
