Bandipora, Aug 30: A massive fire broke out in Kashpat village of Tulail in north Kashmir’s Gurez area of Bandipora district on Saturday, damaging several structures, officials said. Locals said that the fire started from a residential house and quickly spread to nearby structures due to the wooden construction. Soon after the fire broke out, locals, along with the Army, police, and Fire & Emergency Services, launched a joint operation to control the blaze. Katra observes bandh, holds shrine board responsible for death of 34 Vaishno Devi pilgrims
 
JAMMU AUGUST 31:- A day after a landslide left 34 Vaishno Devi pilgrims dead and scores were injured near Ardhkuwari, Katra town, on Thursday, observed a successful bandh in protest against Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board’s “criminal negligence”. At least 10 people, including seven members of a family, were killed and two others are missing after two cloudbursts hit Rajgarh and Mahore areas of Ramban and Reasi districts, respectively, early on Saturday, officials said.
