Assembly Elections in Tripura to be held on Feb 16 in single phase; Meghalaya, Nagaland to go to polls on Feb 27
 
New Delhi January 18:-
The Election Commission has announced bye-elections to one Parliamentary Constituency in Lakshadweep and six Assembly Constituencies spread over five States.

Of the six Assembly Constituencies, by poll will take place for two seats- Kasba Peth and Chinchwad in Maharashtra, Lumla in Arunachal Pradesh, Ramgarh in Jharkhand, Erode East in Tamil Nadu and Sagardighi seat in West Bengal.

The bye- elections will be held on 27th of February and counting of votes will take place on 2nd of March, the day of the results of the Assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. The notification will be issued on 31st of January.

Bypoll to the Lakshadweep Lok Sabha seat was necessitated due to the disqualification of Nationalist Congress Party member Mohammed Faizal PP and for Ramgarh Assembly seat, it is being held due to disqualification of Mamta Devi.
