Children are the builders of the nation and we should be proud of today's talented children who are showing their interest towards the country in fulfilling their goals even in the current situation. Today's children are proving to be leaders in every field, it should be the field of science and technology, then there should be knowledge related to traditional social and cultural literature which is an admirable achievement for us. Today, our children are not behind in the competition of cultural civilization and the scientific world around the world. Our Children, more than other countries, are proving to be an admirable industry of talent and passion in bringing their skills to everyone in new scientific inventions.
The government of India is always serious about taking the skills of children and their field of interest forward and our government is also paying attention to their minds to fulfil the new needs and to utilize their abilities and the education sector and technology in children. It is also adding a new curriculum in educational institutions to acquire expertise.
We should be proud of our children on whom our hopes are pinned. When we talk about today's competitive age, we are very happy to know that our children are not less than anyone, be it bravery or sports, it means that our talented children are at the forefront in every field and the country. For equal development, we should understand the feelings of children and we should not shirk our responsibilities in meeting their needs, which can help ensure the development of our country.
If we talk about the year 2022 or 2023, in the mirror placed in front of us, we can recognize our own face, from where we have travelled and at what point we are standing at this time. You know that the international level in the field of sports. But how beautiful our children have performed and made the parents of children all over the world realize to do something new and acquire the skills to play a role in shining the light of our country's future. Not only this, their per role record is also being recorded in making the path of the film world entity smoother. Children are doing a very good job of promoting the reputation of our country all over the world which is a very auspicious and happy step forward for us.
For the promotion of their essence in our country National Bravery Awards are a set of awards given annually to about 25 Indian children below 18 years of age for "meritorious acts of bravery against all odds." The awards are given by the Government of India and the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW). The award was instituted in 1957. Each year, the ICCW receives applications for the National Bravery Award. These applications come from official agencies such as local and district governments, school authorities, and councils for child welfare.
The awards are usually announced on 14 November, Children's Day, or in January the following year, and later presented by the prime minister on the eve of the Republic Day, and prior to this the President hosts a reception in their honour, where the children meet the media and ICCW awarded 56 children from 17 states for their bravery during the year of 2021-23. The winners from 2020 to 2022 have been awarded. Among them, 16 prize winners were awarded for 2021 and 18 for 2022. Due to the Corona epidemic, the prize ceremony was held after three years, so the prizes of the previous years were also presented on January 20. Similarly, 16-year-old Nitin Singh, who showed bravery by fighting a leopard in 2022, was also honored with the Markande Award.
