| NIA summons Moulana Rehmatullah Qasmi in JI Funding Case | | | | Srinagar, June 07:The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned Maulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi, a respected Islamic scholar and rector of Dar ul Uloom Rahimya Bandipora, as well as a senior member of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema, in connection with an alleged case of terror funding.
The NIA is currently conducting an investigation into the funding activities of Jamat-e-Islami in Jammu and Kashmir. It is alleged that these funds have been used for unlawful activities with the intent to radicalize the youth in the valley.
Maulana Qasmi received a summon from the NIA, stating that his knowledge of the case is sought and he is required to appear at the NIA camp office in Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar. The purpose of his appearance is to answer specific questions related to the case. | | | | |
