What is happening in the world of journalism in Jammu and Kashmir during the present leadership of the country is only a historical pattern and a miracle. What has changed in the literary world of journalism across the state after the year 2014 is a shameful incident.
The Director Information Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Manga Sharpa clearly stated during his short break meeting with editor of daily Northern Times that newspapers are not being taken out for advertisements but the Director Information Jammu and Kashmir and Officer in charge does not know the truth and is not fully informed that present, around 300 newspapers are being published from the Jammu division, while 320 newspapers are being published from the Kashmir division, in which government advertisements are supplied on commission basis, even to cart runners, tailors, hotel owners, contractors, and vegetables Sellers and employees of the Department of Information and Public Relations Jammu and Kashmir and the children along with their wives of the stat employees are involved and are paying lime every month in exchange for supplying advertisements to the state treasury.
Mr. Manga Sherpa (IAS) Director information did not even tell that if the advertisements are not for newspapers, then in whose favor are the advertisements worth crores of rupees supplied every month
History is a witness and reveals that in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the very well-known journalists who are considered to be like other Kashmiri Pandit minority community journalists have not been allowed to perform their services related to their profession of journalism in one pretext to another. The unlawful harassment has been continuously adopted by the Directorate information against editor daily Northern Times in order to force him to close down his publications one pretext to another and to weaken the economic situation of the editor and had even disappeared the advertisement bills of Northern Times unlawfully.
The documents clearly clarify that in addition to Joint Director Information Jammu and Joint Director Headquarters Srinagar the employees working in Public Relations Department of Information and public relations are fully responsible for making the grave situations of the editor of daily Northern Times.
In future, if any accident or untoward incident happens to the editor of Northern Times or any of his family members, the Joint Director Information Jammu and the employees posted in the Department of Information, and Public Relations Jammu and Kashmir after 2014 will be fully responsible. .
