J&K: Security around minority clusters tightens in Kashmir Valley after two carpenters get killed in terrorist attack

In Jammu and Kashmir, a day after the terrorist attack in Srinagar in which two carpenters were killed, security around minority clusters has been tightened in the entire Kashmir Valley.

IG, Police, Kashmir, VK Birdi, and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir VK Bidhuri co-chaired a security review meeting that was attended by Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Kashmir. DIGs of all the ranges, SSP PCR Kashmir, SP South City Srinagar, and SP Cargo were also present.

A police spokesman said, security arrangements were reviewed in minority clusters and other critical areas in the wake of recent developments. He said all participants were briefed about elaborative security measures taken in this regard. He added that the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir stressed that there shall be efforts by the magistrate's office along with the Police to ensure a secure and congenial environment.

The spokesman said, the IGP asked the officers to remain vigilant in coordination with their security force counterparts and constantly review the arrangements.
