| GOVERNMENT'S CONSPIRACY TO SILENCE REAL JOURNALISTS. | | FREEDOM OF THE PRESS IS SWINGING IN THE AIR, WHICH MEANS IF YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH, YOU WILL BE BEATEN. | | |  JAMMU JUNE 23(Ashok Raina)
The Silver Jubilee of Independence was also celebrated, but what is happening across the country and especially in the state of Jammu and Kashmir is a shameful incident. The government has failed at every stage. People are being misled by playing dance songs and drums. The long tall claims of corruption free government for the people of state are entirely wrong and false.
During the last 10 years, the journalism and literary industry in the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been toyed with and how much shame has been inflicted. It can never be fulfilled. It is sad and regrettable that black laws and circulars are being issued nightly in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, by which the journalists are being prevented from freedom of the press by covering the officers involved in corruption, scams as well as in scandals.
How far has the era come which we never expected. Let us call it unfortunate or forceful, although any journalist is demanding action against the officers involved in scams, scandals or in matters of corruption or any news in this regard or an article has been published but action is being taken against that journalist.
Being a journalist and accepting my responsibilities, I urge all citizens across the country to come forward to support the truth-based journalistic community in order to stop the corruption and corruption that is happening under the present government. And I appeal for full support to raise voice against it
What the current government is claiming is completely wrong and baseless. Whether the current government agrees with my words or not, I will not go away from my responsibilities. The people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir have filed grievances against the government employees and no action has been taken against them nor is it being done. Many officers are involved in the cases of corruption matters from the light act or are found to be involved in the appointments made through the back door; no action is being taken against them either.
During the last ten years, attempts have been made to suppress all those journalists who have tried to carry out their responsibilities properly by colluding against the corruption going on in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The point of regret is that no action has been taken against all those corrupt employees who have stolen public money or damaged state exchequer for their vested interest and disturbed the public in the presence of the poor government. Allegedly some among them four, four, five, five storied buildings have been erected illegally at many places across the country, but our government is not ready to enquire into the matter against them.
If the government is serious, it should issue a circular to investigate the properties of all employees and not issue black laws and circulars to carry out the conspiracy to harass the journalist community overnight.
On June 20, 2024, a circular was issued against the media overnight. What is a very shameful move against the media and a plan of the government? Has raised many questions upon the intention of the present government towards the journalist fraternity
If, being a journalist, the world or the international community will ask me what is happening in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, my answer will be that people are being fooled and misled by dancing and playing drums. The reality on the ground is very far away from the truth and clear.
It is worth mentioning that the journalists who published the news or raised their voice to end corruption in government offices, their newspapers were closed. Newspapers have also been closed. You won't believe it, but the truth is clear and I have official evidence that after 2014, many shameful incidents have happened in the world of journalism, advertising policies have been changed many times and tailors, shopkeepers, barbers and brides have been made journalists and those who are journalists.
The expert in the literary industry in the world was forced to close his profession. Under the guise of corruption, the world of journalism was set on fire and the voice of the people was not allowed to be raised properly
After the year 2014, there has been a major setback in the world of literary industry and journalism in our state. The corrupt officers who auctioned the world of journalism and decorated their houses and built jewelry shops were praised and no action was taken against them and no inquiry is being made regarding their properties. The government officials across the country in many places, not only the houses but also the commercial centers have been built, the government has also failed to collect the property tax from them
How many press freedom laws were enacted overnight with effect from the year 2014 to suppress factual journalism so as not to question the bona fides of the current government? Newspaper owners were also threatened to stop advertising, which means that the government has a budget to crush truth-based journalists.
The government is making every possible effort to suppress the genuine journalists so that the government's good intentions are not questioned. Where people are longing for a single drop of water, where people are worried about power cuts in summer, journalists are being harassed for publishing news. Also, action is being taken against the journalist who raises his voice against the increase in inflation and publishes the news. Freedom of the press is swinging in the air, which means if you speak the truth, you will be beaten.
In our state of Jammu and Kashmir, if the properties of the officers of state and especially those who have been in the Department of Information and Public Relations are inquired about, surely the whole matter can come out.
