Drug trafficking trade is common in Refugee camps in J&K
WRITTEN BY ASHOK RAINA

Government fails to control the Drug trafficking trade system in Kashmiri refugee camps which is allegedly continuously in full swing. The once renewed 100% educated minority community in the state of Jammu and Kashmir were known for peaceful minded people and are now involved in so many unexpected activities raising the challenging situations for the administration to control and check at present.

It cannot be ruled out the minority community people is going through a period of hardships, but on the other hand, the unemployed youth in the refugee camps are accused of being involved in drug or alcohol behavior activities viz a viz in charas smuggling is very bad and shocked the surroundings

Sources said on the condition of anonymity that the situation in the refugee camps is very bad where the drug business is running internally rampant and by now hundreds of youths have become addicted to drugs and medicines their families are intense as have ruined themselves.

Expressing concern over the government's failure to curb the unhindered drug trade, people have alleged that many youths have fallen victim to drug addiction in refugee camps over the past several years. Many young people are drunk and many others have become addicted to drugs.

Sources have further said that no one has been arrested till date despite the government having launched the awareness camp against the drug violence and exploitation in various migrant camps in Jammu and Kashmir State. Last year. Sources further added that drug trade business holders having rich influence within the state are free and independent from the authority of laws to do their activities freely inside their targeted areas and one who even made the complaint against them would have to face the consequences.

That due to the incompetence and the lack of ability of the drug control authority of India, the criminals and people belonging to the criminal profession are being encouraged.

It is being told that last year, the government had launched an awareness program to prevent drug addiction in the camps, but later it also proved to be a drama, after that programmed the government did not made such situations at ground level to check the menace of drug trafficking in the various refugees camps in Jammu and Kashmir

Several people raised the finger upon the drug controller department that no inquiry on the ground level regarding the drug business is being conducted. That neither the administration, after adopting a comprehensive awareness program inside the camps, did not take any action that would have resulted in the expected arrests.

People have alleged that unemployed youths who are involved in drug addiction are seen roaming the streets late at night and yet there is no one to interrogate them which is a cause for concern. It has been said that from Jammu and Kashmir and from Kashmir to the capital Delhi, the youth of many camps are connected with the drug mafia and this link is very dangerous, which is very active at the moment and business is going on inside. Many people believe that if it is investigated on a large scale, it cannot be denied that many refugees and government officials can be found equally involved in this trap.

In the parks of the refugee camps public accountability is underway. The leaves of colorful play cards are scattered in the parks like the leaves have fallen from the poplar tree. Despite this, the lawlessness has increased so much that the life of the common man has become divided and scattered among the noble minded people.
