RELIEF COMMISSIONER DR. ARVIND KARWANI VISITED THE TRT CAMP AND REVIEWED THE CURRENT SITUATION
Assured that all possible steps will be taken to gradually restore water supply, repair and sanitation works. Implement the schemes being adopted for self-employment have so far proved ineffective and failed for kp migrants:- kp migrants

In view of the current uncertain situation in the refugee camps, Relief Commissioner Dr. Arvind Karwani visited the TRT camp here today and reviewed the current situation. On this occasion, he was accompanied by many other officials associated with the Relief Department, including the Deputy Commissioner Relief, Camp Commandant, etc.
While listening carefully to the problems faced by the people in the refugee camps, he assured to deal with all the problems on a war footing basis in which, emphasizing the need to implement Jal Shakti Mission in the camps to ensure drinking water supply, he advocated resorting to better water supply and hygienic atmospheres and said that Jal Shakti Mission will soon be operational in the camps.
In addition to all the Commissioner has also talked about handing over the cleaning work to the Municipal Cooperation to maintain cleanliness and transparency in the refugee camps and said that apart from the Relief Department, there are already many such departments in the state of Jammu and Kashmir which are working for the welfare of the people at the grassroots level, so in such a situation, the related work and the problems of the refugee people will also be entrusted to them.
In response to a question asked regarding the day-to-day deteriorating condition of the quarters, Mr. Karwani has said that the PWD department has already been contacted to review all the repair works related to the quarters and the supervision of the entire repair works falls under the purview of the PWD department, which the work will be done properly. However, Arvind Karwani has said that the public also has responsibilities for the repair work, who can file their complaints in view of the unsatisfactory situation.
He has also stressed the need to take immediate concrete steps for the establishment of libraries in the camps to equip children and students with knowledge and to participate in wider awareness and comprehensive information programs. Dr. Karwani has also revealed that the Revenue and Resettlement Department has taken several steps to review the problems faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir Valley related to reasonable and unreasonable properties and in this regard, he has said that the officials of the Revenue Department will soon visit various places in Jammu division to resolve the problems of Kashmiri Pandit refugees.
Meanwhile, on this occasion, besides the Health Service Department, The DIC Jammu, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank also launched an awareness program regarding the loan campaign for self-employment, but many questions have already been raised on the Jammu and Kashmir Bank regarding the provision of loans and Pandit refugees have expressed dissatisfaction. It is worth mentioning that these departments had also launched awareness programs earlier but all efforts to implement the schemes being adopted for self-employment have so far proved ineffective and failed.
