Govt Has Spent Over1.24 Lakh Crore On Welfare Of Veterans & Their Families: Union Minister Sanjay Seth | | | NEW DELHI JANUARY 14:- Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, today said that the veterans who served in the 1971 war are the strength and power of our armed forces. On the occasion of the 9th Armed Forces Veterans Day, Mr Seth laid a wreath at the Gaurav Stambh (Victory at Sea Memorial), Naval Dockyard, in Mumbai, to mark the day and paid homage to the fallen soldiers. ‘The veterans are India’s pride,’ Mr Seth said, adding that the government is committed to their welfare. He also informed us that the government has spent over one lakh 24 thousand crore on the welfare of veterans and their families over the past 10 years.
This was followed by a Tri-Services Veterans’ Rally at the Indian Navy Sailors Institute (INSI Sagar), where Mr. Seth interacted with the ex-servicemen. Around 400 veterans were present at the rally. In his address, Mr. Seth commended the veterans for their integrity, values, and discipline, which serve as an inspiration to the people of the country. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, was also present on the occasion. | | | |
