| Literary Club of GCW Gandhi Nagar Hosts Book Review Event during the inauguration of "The Reading/Literary Club" | | | | NEW DELHI MARCH 17:-
The Reading/Literary Club of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, successfully organized an intellectually enriching event centred on book reviews and literary discussions. The event was held in the college smart classroom and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students. The event was conducted in the presence and guidance of Prof. Archana Bakshi- Convenor Literary club & HOD English, Dr. Anuradha Seth - Librarian, Dr. Bindu Chib - HOD Hindi, Dr. Tarsem - HOD Dogri, Dr. Vipin and Dr. Jasmeet. The gathering aimed to promote a culture of critical thinking, literary appreciation, and a deeper engagement with diverse texts among students.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the Librarian- Dr. Anuradha Seth, who highlighted the significance of literary conversations in today’s fast-paced world and emceed by the anchor, Palshin Dutta. She emphasized how books act as mirrors to society and tools for shaping informed perspectives. A total of 25 students and several esteemed professors participated in the session, sharing their reviews and interpretations of various literary works spanning different genres, cultures, and time periods.
Each participant offered critical insights and personal reflections on the selected texts, making the event both insightful and thought-provoking. The students showcased their analytical skills and creative expression, demonstrating a mature understanding of literary nuances. Their presentations were followed by interactive discussions, where professors shared their expert perspectives, enriching the discourse with academic depth and contextual clarity.
The event ended with a vote of thanks and a token of appreciation presented to the participants by the Literary Club Coordinator, who acknowledged the efforts of all participants and encouraged more such initiatives in the future.The success of this event marks another step in GCW Gandhi Nagar’s ongoing commitment to holistic education and nurturing a vibrant academic environment.
