| Former Legislator Found Dead in Srinagar, Police Suspect Suicide | | | | Srinagar, Mar 20 : Former legislator Fakeer Mohd Khan, son of Jumma Khan and a resident of Gurez, was found dead in the Tulsibagh area of Srinagar on Thursday following an incident of firearm discharge
Srinagar Police, in an official statement, said, “An incident of firearm discharge was reported today in the Tulsibagh area of Srinagar, resulting in the death of former legislator Fakeer Mohd Khan, son of Jumma Khan, a resident of Gurez.
Police has taken cognizance of the matter, and legal proceedings under section 194 of the BNSS have been initiated at Police Station Shergarhi. Initial findings suggest the incident appears to be a case of suicide. Further investigation is ongoing, considering all aspects.”
Officials said the police are examining all angles to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details are awaited.
