Navreh Mahotsav 2025 compete with Tyaag Divas Honouring Pandit Shreya Bhat
Three Days of Cultural Significance in J&K Atlas will Explore its importance.
 
Jammu, March 29, 2025: The much-anticipated three-day "Navreh Mahotsav 2025" commence here today. The start of celebrations commemorating the Kashmiri Hindu New Year and cultural heritage in big way will explore its importance in J&K atlas.

Organized under the aegis of community initiatives headed by Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, the festival will go to carry on till April 1st, 2025.

The inaugural day is observed as Tyaag Divas (Day of Sacrifice), dedicated to the memory and selfless contributions of the revered 15th-century scholar and physician, Acharya Pandit Shreya Bhat.

In observance of Tyaag Divas, numerous events (Karikrames) and meetings (Bataks) were held across Jammu and beyond. Significant gatherings took place at locations including Shiv Mandir Saraswati Vihar Bohri, Shiv Shakti Mandir Sanatha Janipur, Ram Shiva Ashram Neesab Nagar Janipur, Kheer Bhawani Asthapan Janipur, Butta Nagar Welfare Committee, Hari Prabhat Mandir Ploura, Mastbub Ashram Patoli, Butta Nagar TRT Camp Muthi, Amar Colony Gole Gujral, Lakar Mandi Janipur, Sharika Peeth Subash Nagar, Migrant Township Jagti, and Shiv Nagar Committee Subash Nagar.

Similar commemorative events were also organized by the community in Gurugram, Dehradun, Bangalore Anantnag and various places in Kashmir. Speakers (Karyakartas) at these functions elaborated on the life and profound sacrifice (Tyaag) of Acharya Pandit Shreya Bhat, with scores of community members participating.

Engaging the youth, through various online programmes that were organised an online essay and short video competition focusing on the lives and contributions of Acharya Pandit Shreya Bhat and the 8th-century warrior-king Samrat Lalitaditya has garnered significant participation. Numerous entries have been submitted via the designated Google Form: https://forms.gle/g2daj7m18MqrKSjb9 . Information highlighting the historical significance of both figures is actively circulating and generating engagement across various social media platforms like Twitter (X), Facebook and Instagram.

The Mahotsav observed as Navreh Sankalap Divas (Day of Resolve). Community members were encouraged to participate in pledge-taking ceremonies within their families (parivars) and at their respective organizational (sanstha) levels. March 31st will be celebrated as Shaurya Divas (Day of Valor), honouring the legacy of the great 8th-century emperor, Samrat Lalitaditya with pride and esteem.

The celebrations will culminate in the concluding Navreh Samaroh 2025 on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025. The grand impressive event will be held at the Abhinav Theatre in Jammu, commencing at 4:00 PM, to be conveying the four-day Mahotsav to a close.
