| THE THRILLING STORY OF OLD AGE PENSION WRITTEN BY ASHOK RAINA | | | | When I think of the collection of poems by William Shakespeare, the renowned author of English literature, I feel a sense of urgency and passion that I, too, could give wings to all my hidden imaginations and what is happening around me right now that I have never seen since childhood? My life is being manipulated before my eyes, and I am being deliberately desired with all my authority.
“My strange, unique story: how is it?
You adorned the pages of history.
In our desolate homeland
wounds of our hearts shine on the skies.”
Yes Exactly 35 years have passed, yet there has been no change in the thinking of the governments about me and the people of my class and like me, everyone has heard or seen the story of “Aaya Ram Gaya Ram”, but I have seen the same situation.
History bears witness to what all we had to endure after being displaced from our motherland, how much pain and suffering we endured, and it has been written in the pages of history across the world, even in the Film Division's film JK Files, everything about us was shown and pity was created in the hearts of the people, but the mind of the governments was never got changed.
Several central flagship programs were launched for the welfare of the people across the country, many schemes were put on the path of development, apart from this, many concrete steps were taken for the youth to generate their own livelihood opportunities with parallel to make the special recruitments in the army, special recruitments were organized in the police department, but it is a matter of regret that not a single scheme was of any use for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits including for the writer who were rendered homeless.
“What a mess this is in the sunshine
she turned out to be very shy
What a fair this is in the storms
The procession of life is uprooted.”
Displacement did not give me as much pain as I am feeling after remembering all those memories that how many of our colleagues died in front of me and how many unemployed youths became old in the blink of an eye and I also remember that day very well when the Governor of our state Shri. Manoj Sinha ji came to Jagti Township and was giving a speech while addressing the people and he had promised to give pension in favor of the old age people and many people had also filled the forms but from then till today I have not seen anyone promising old age pension.
The thrilling stories of the struggle for old age pension continue even today and these efforts are not ending yet.
“Dreams of living life turned unreliable.
The crazy city was mercilessly killed”
What can I say to you, friend? In the present time what is happening around us we have certainly been disgraced, but honesty cannot remain hidden from my tongue.
“They came again to woo my heart.
With kajal applied into my eyes
Asked me for some more lines
That's what I am telling you today”.
Over the past several years, they have taken documents from us many times, but never did they find that day when they brightened up someone's old life with the thought of pension.
“Life went wherever it went.
Eyes continued to long for us
Became an oblivious moment of our dreams.
Those died became difficult to count”
We're just going through the motions of filling out pension forms and you might also find it strange that if you have an account with any national bank other than Jammu & Kashmir Bank, your form is not being considered in positive manner and in one pretext to another your form is being rejected and deprived your rights at the last stages of life passing hours but i finally inform you that So, as long as you're alive, and we are alive, our struggle to survive will continue and these are the lines i have opined today ."The thrilling story of old age pension".
