BJP Candidate in Budgam Files Complaint Against Omar Abdullah for MCC Violation

Srinagar, Oct 29 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Budgam by-elections, Aga Syed Mohsin, has lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner in New Delhi against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, alleging a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
According to the complaint, Omar Abdullah, during a session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly earlier today, announced the start of temporary classes for a proposed “National Law University” at Ompura in Budgam district.
Aga Syed Mohsin stated that this announcement, made from the Assembly floor, has been widely circulated on media and social platforms and appears to be aimed at influencing voters in Budgam by highlighting possible development benefits in the constituency.

The BJP candidate has urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take strict action, claiming that such statements during the election period violate the MCC guidelines
