| Lenovo and Intel Reimagine Kashmir’s Carpet Art Through AI-Powered Storytelling | | | | Jammu, December 01, 2025 – Lenovo today revealed its upcoming creator-led initiative, Made With Lenovo Yoga (Aura Edition) developed in collaboration with Intel to inspire Gen Z to rediscover India’s cultural roots by reinterpreting timeless art forms through a modern, digital lens. As part of this initiative to bridge heritage and innovation, Lenovo will debut a high-concept cinematic short film that brings together acclaimed 3D/AI artist Varun Gupta and master craftsmen from Ali Shah Crafts, renowned for preserving Kashmir’s centuries-old carpet-making tradition. The film reimagines Kashmiri carpets through motion-designed animation, combining visual storytelling with immersive, dynamic visuals to show how intricate motifs, paisleys, chinars, floral patterns, animals, and characters, can come alive using 3D, VFX, and AI-enabled creation, turning static designs into cinematic story moments that retell a classic Kashmiri folk tale.
This Kashmiri carpet film is one of three Lenovo regional films, showcasing creators traveling to Odisha, Rajasthan, and Kashmir: Jishnu Chatterjee and Sachikanta Sahoo; TooSid and Akhshay Gandhi; and Varun Gupta with Ali Shah Crafts, each reimagining the traditional art form of these states through digital innovation.
With this campaign, Lenovo aims to spark fresh excitement among Gen Z, who want to reconnect with their roots.
Where Heritage Meets AI
Rooted in Srinagar, the film explores centuries-old carpet motifs inspired by local folklore, including the famous tale of Laila and Majnu. Through travel, conversations, and immersive exploration of the craft, the episode captures a rare collaboration between a modern AI artist and traditional artisans.
Using the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i Aura Edition AI PC, Varun animates carpets into dynamic visual universes, with flowers blooming, vines twisting, characters emerging, and entire designs coming alive while preserving authentic handcrafted textures. The device’s AI-ready architecture with 40+ TOPS NPU, long-lasting battery, and Copilot+ features help streamline the complex creative process from photography to rendering.
Speaking about the initiative, Chandrika Jain, Marketing Director, Lenovo India, said, “India’s artistic heritage carries centuries of skill and storytelling, and we see AI as a powerful tool to help it thrive in the future. With the ‘Made With Lenovo Yoga (Aura Edition)’ campaign, our goal is to show how technology can be used for good, not to replace tradition, but to preserve it, share it. By giving creators AI-powered capabilities that respect the authenticity of handcrafted art, the Lenovo Yoga Aura Edition enables them to push creative boundaries and reimagine cultural narratives in formats that resonate with today’s young audiences.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Manzoor Sidiq Shah, Ali Shah Crafts, Srinagar, said, “Kashmiri carpets carry centuries of stories and heritage in every intricate motif. Seeing them come alive digitally with Varun and Lenovo, while retaining their soul, is truly inspiring. This collaboration shows that technology, when used thoughtfully, can preserve our traditions and bring them closer to the new generation who will carry these stories forward.”
A Cultural-Tech Fusion for the New Generation
Lenovo is using technology for good, demonstrating how meaningful digital innovation can preserve India’s heritage while empowering Gen Z to explore it in new ways. By blending centuries-old craftsmanship with AI-powered creativity, Lenovo aims to equip young creators with tools that help them push boundaries, experiment boldly, and craft fresh narratives that stay rooted in culture yet expressed through modern design.
The campaign further strengthens Lenovo’s position as a leader in AI PCs, while highlighting its long-standing collaboration with Intel to push the boundaries of performance, creativity, and creator-focused innovation in India. | | | | |
