| KP’S EXCLUDED FROM THE RESERVATION POLICY | | | | The Jammu and Kashmir government excluded the displaced Kashmiri Pandits from the reservation policy. While approving the reservation policy, no opposition party in the Assembly discussed the inclusion of the Kashmiri Pandit community, who have been struggling to survive in exile for more than 35 years and are continuously passing the hours under the displaced category in their own state. Both the governments state as well Centre fails to provide the job opportunities to displaced minority community youth of the state with the result large number of unemployed youths have crossed all overage limits and become highly victim of apathetic attitude of consideration of the governments.
It is pertinent to mention here that the large number of unemployed youths of the minority community becomes ill fate victim of unpleasant atmosphere from the last more than 3 decades in his own state and during the imposition of AFSPA in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the minority community unemployed youth fails to get the job opportunity from the state machinery.
On the basis of anonymity, the number of unemployed youths of the Kashmiri minority community has alleged and said that the present government is discriminatory act in large is beyond the imagination and tolerance. They further alleged that the step motherly treatment has been adopted by the successive governments towards the minority community of Kashmiri pandits.
The minority community youth expressed their shock over the sensitive issue and said that it is aggrieved to say here that in good majority BJP leadership in a state assembly also remained silent on the issue of inclusion of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community during the state government's approval of the reservation policy recently. While as the PDP leader and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who had already been advocating for reservation for the Kashmiri Pandit community in government jobs, also maintained silence on the issue at the last moment of the approval of reservation policy.
It is pertinent to mention here the new reservation policy that increases the share of the general category in government jobs and professional admissions, sources said here.
That Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, cleared the proposal after multiple rounds of deliberations and sent it to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for final approval before a formal notification was issued, sources further added more and said.”
The Cabinet has also approved the inclusion of two additional communities — Ahangar and Waghey/Chopan — in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) list but residing in temporary situations across the country and unstable minority community has been deprived from the right to get the job opportunities under the current reservation policy of the state. | | | | |
