DC Reasi flags off ‘Ayushman Bharat Rath’
1073 urban, 20927 rural households identified under PMJAY
 
REASI, NOVEMBER 06: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Prasanna Ramaswamy G flagged off ‘Ayushman Bharat Rath’ under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) here from the DC Complex, Reasi.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed upon a sustained awareness campaign about the scheme and further emphasised to inform the prospective beneficiaries about the program and its benefits.

The magnitude of the Ayushman Bharat scheme can be gauged from the fact that more than 1,300 ailments are covered under it including Heart diseases, Kidney diseases, Liver disorder and diabetes. Moreover, the ones living in the lowest strata of the society will also be benefitted this scheme.

He informed that in Reasi District, a total of 1073 urban households and 20927 rural households have been identified under the scheme. There will be an Arogya Mitra and medical coordinator who will act as facilitators in empanelled hospitals to ensure smooth functioning of the largest public health insurance cover for the poor and vulnerable, he added.

Chief Medical Officer Reasi, Dr Parminder Singh informed that the Ayushman Bharat Rath will cover all blocks of district Reasi to spread awareness about the PMJAY.

It was given out that a card would be provided to the beneficiaries for availing of the benefits. The scheme has been implemented by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under which Health Insurance Coverage of Rs 5 lakhs will be given to the poor and vulnerable families.
