| Army organizes tree plantation drive | | | | Srinagar, April 12 (Agencies): A tree plantation drive was organised by the Army over a period of three weeks in various schools of Budgam District.
The primary aim of the drive was to create awareness among masses for forest conservation and also to engage them in constructive activity.
A master plan for the same was prepared and areas for plantation were first earmarked and thereafter liaison with forest department was carried out for provisioning of variety of plants.
The plantation drive will not only benefit the environment but will also influence the socio-economic development of the nation, prevention of global warming, reduction of pollution, soil conservation and will certainly add onto the natural aesthetic beauty of the Valley | | | | |
