| 181 ft illicit timer seized in Warnow Lolab, four officials suspended | | | | Srinagar, Mar 14 (Agencies): Force Protection Force (FPF) on Thursday seized at least 181-ft illicit timber (Deodar) in compartment number 68 in Warnow Lolba area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The FPF team headed by Assistant Director Sheikh Aijaz Ahmad of K06 Gama unit Nutnusa, raided the area and seized the illicit timber there.
After seizing the illicit timber, Assistant Director informed the department about the seizure and alleged that ‘it seems the staff was aware about the happenings in the compartment.”
Meanwhile, DFO Kamraj, Abid Nazir Shah admitted that the illicit timber was seized by FPFP and said he has suspended four officials including two watchers, one Forest guard and Block Forest Officer in this regard. | | | | |
