Senior Congress leader Tom Vadakkan joins BJP; says, Congress narrative is anti-national, it hurts when a political party disrespects armed forces.

It was another shot in the arm for BJP as senior Congress leader Tom Vadakkan joined BJP in New Delhi.

The veteran leader comes from Congress and has been known for his decades long loyalty to the grand old party. His defection has definitely come as a major blow to the party right ahead of general election.

Vadakkan said that the efforts taken by Prime Minister Modi led NDA government to transform the country have changed his view which led him to join the BJP. He accused Congress for its dynastic politics and use and throw policy towards workers and leaders.

Trinamool Congress MLA from West Bengal Arjun Singh, on Thursday joined the party in New Delhi. A four time MLA, Arjun Singh joined BJP in the presence of senior leaders Kailash Vijay Vargiya and Mukul Roy.

Arjun Singh said that TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee's statement about surgical strike was a shocker for him and everyone who loves the country.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday addressed a 'Fishermen's Parliament' in Thrissur in Kerala. He promised that if voted to power, the Congress party would take a decision on creating a separate fisheries ministry at the Centre.

As poll temperature continues to rise, political parties have started brainstorming over their candidates for the Lok Sabha election. BSP chief Mayawati attended party core meeting in Lucknow today to finalise its candidates.
