Heat wave beats down unrelentingly over most of country | | | New Delhi June 04(Agencies) Heat wave beats down unrelentingly over most of the country; Red Alert for Rajasthan, Eastern MP and Vidarbha in Maharashtra; Yellow alert in Punjab, Haryana, U.P, Chhattisgarh & Telangana; Forecast of rainfall in the next 4-5 days in the North East.
Delhi witnessed a slight relief on Monday after reeling under heat wave last week. The maximum temperature was 40.6 degree celsius while minimum was 29.4 degrees celsius.
IMD said slight relief from the stifling heat is expected today onwards as there is possibility of very light rain or thunderstorm accompanied with lightening and gusty wind.
Meanwhile, Met department said that Red alert is still on in Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, regions of vidharbha in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, yellow alert has been issued in almost whole of Uttar Pradesh, besides Punjab, Haryana, Chattisgarh, and Telangana.
MET also issued a forecast of rainfall in the next 4-5 days in the North East part of the country including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. | | | |
