Army kick starts 6th season of "Beliyan Premier league" in Kupwara
 
Kupwara July 17:(Agencies) Beliyan Army Camp, kick started 6th season of "Beliyan Premier League " (BPL) in Kupwara. In the 6th around 16 teams from adjoining areas will participate in the tournament. The soul aim to conduct these sports events is to build a strong relationship between army and awaam.

According to a statement to Kashmir News Service, reads, Beliyan Premier League is an Annual Cricket Tournament organised every summer season by Beliyan Army Camp. The tournament invites cricket teams from the neighbouring villages to promote a competitive spirit amongst cricketers and provides a platform for further limelight and exposure into District Level Tournaments. A total of 16 teams including teams from Handwara, Magam, Kupwara and Tangdhar are participating in the event this year. These teams include youth of all age groups between 14-24. The tournament is being played with 4 pools comprising of 4 teams each. Each match will be played for 12 Overs.



On the first day of the tournament, four matches were played. In the first match between Beliyan Tigers Vs KKR, playing first KKR made 68/9 in 12 Overs. Chasing the target

Beliyan Tigers made 70/6 in 11.5 Overs with one ball to spare. Beliyan Tigers Won Match By 3 Wickets.



In the Second Match played between Royal Challengers and Himalayan Star. Himalayan Star after winning the toss chose to bat and made 107/9 in the allotted Overs. Royal Challengers chased down the target with a blazing start and made 108/2 in 8.2 Overs, winning the match by 8 Wickets.



The third match was played between Haphruda Cricket Club and Young Boys, where batting first Haphruda Cricket Club made 135/8 in 12 Overs. While chasing, wickets kept on falling at quick intervals for Young Boys and they were all out for 68 runs in 11 Overs. Haphruda Cricket Club won the match by 67 Runs.



The final match was played between Royal Red and Red Army, who batting first made a score of 99 runs in 11.5 Overs. Chasing the target

Royal Red could only score 68 runs for 6 wickets on 12 Overs, losing the match by 31 Runs.
