Khelo India Youth Games: Haryana regains lead in medals tally with 33 gold

In the Khelo India Youth Games, Haryana retained the leading position in the medal tally with 33 gold, 27 silver and 36 bronze medals. Haryana has so far grabbed 96 medals. Maharashtra is following with 83 medals including 30 gold, 28 silver and 25 bronze medals.

Manipur also retained third place with 13 gold, three silver and two bronze medals followed by Tamil Nadu, which is at fourth place with 10 gold, 10 silver and eight bronze medals. Karnataka has reached fifth place leaving Punjab behind with nine gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals. Punjab has now slipped to sixth place with eight gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal while interacting with the media after watching different sports competitions organized at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula today said that sportspersons are participating enthusiastically in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games. He said, Haryana is leading in the medal tally and expressed hope that the hosts would emerge as the champion this time.

Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also honoured the winners of 200-metre race by presenting them with medals at Tau Devi Lal Stadium
