JRL calls for Lal Chowk march on Saturday, strike on 21st May

Srinagar, May 15 (Agencies): The Joint Resistance leadership (JRL) comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on Tuesday called Lal Chowk Chalo on Saturday May 19 against the proposed visit of Prime Minister of India Narinder Modi besides a strike call on 21st May to commemorate the anniversaries of Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone.
The JRL in a statement said that proposed visit of Indian premier is aimed at to hoodwink the opinion of international community, adding, JRL will stage a peaceful protest on May 19. JRL said that forcing silence of a graveyard by using military might and designating it as peace can only be termed as foolishness and if Indian rulers and their abettors really believe in democracy and freedom of speech, they should stop their oppressive tactics and allow JRL to hold this peaceful protest.
JRL leaders said that Lal Chowk Chalo has been called to demonstrate before the whole world what people of Kashmir stand for. “If Indian rulers assume that oppression unleashed by their army and forces has crushed resistance in Kashmir, then they should find some courage to lift ban on political activities of the resistance camp and allow such programs,” JRL said in a statement.
“India and its stooges only know to suppress people’s voices under the pretext of so-called democracy and normalcy which is highly condemnable,” it added.
Lalchowk Chalo will highlight the miseries and hardships faced by the people of Kashmir at the hands of oppressive forces, it will also highlight the reign of terror unleashed by Indian occupational forces and it will also be a show of solidarity with the people of south Kashmir where Indian army, forces and police have let loose an ugly phase of horror.
Paying rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone and all the martyrs of the movement, the joint resistance leadership decided to call peaceful public gathering on May 21 to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone, martyrs of Hawal and all the martyrs of movement.
The statement stated that the people of Kashmir have offered huge and continue to offer great sacrifices of their life limb and property for the rightful cause of freedom and on May 21 people will reiterate their pledge with ongoing freedom movement.
