A pilgrim has died of a heart attack at a transit camp set up in Banihal in Ramban district. police stated that pilgrim was going on a pilgrimage without any registration thus calling the question upon the security scenario of state during the ongoing yatra to holy shrine of lord Shiva this year.
Sources said that the pilgrim suffered severe chest pain in the transit camp on Monday morning, after which he was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The deceased was an unregistered pilgrim and identified him as 65-year-old Bharat Bhushan resident of Ferozepura, Punjab.
Sources further reveals told to us that the death of a pilgrim came due to a heart attack in Banihal while as approximately more other 5 pilgrims have already lost their lives during the ongoing way of holy Amaranth cave Yatra this year and about 50,000 pilgrims have visited the holy shrine of lord shiva in Kashmir valley so far. The 43-days of journey will culminated on August 11 and state management has claimed that more than 800,000 pilgrims are likely to arrive this year for holy darshan at lord shiva place in Kashmir.
Sources further added that once one side government is claiming that yatra is being conducted in accordance with the usual legal framework and procedures of law while on the other hand the police officials are claiming that almost died pilgrims were found unregistered being allowed for their journey towards the holy shrine for holy darshan at Amar Nath the cave of lord shiva in Kashmir without any investigation and without any state of insurance passing in favour. Thus it is more significant to say here that the statement of police is calling the question upon the security scenario in the state during the Holy cave yatra this year that starts and commence from 30th june this year would culminated on 11 august next month . sources added that death toll of amaranth yatris arises from 5 to 6 till date.
